The requirement for equal treatment constitutes a Constitutional Mandate:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h3><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">GREEK CONSTITUTION, ARTICLE 21, PARAGRAPH 6: \u201cPersons with disabilities have the right to enjoy measures that ensure their autonomy, professional integration and participation in the social, economic and political life of the Country.\u201d<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/p><hr \/><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><strong>\u0391.<\/strong> <strong>MINISTRY OF NATIONAL EDUCATION AND RELIGION, LETTER WITH PROTOCOL NUMBER \u03a6142\/\u03923\/7104, 19 DECEMBER 1990: FACILITIES FOR STUDENTS WITH DYSLEXIA,<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/socialsupport.unit.uoi.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/1990-\u0394\u03b9\u03b5\u03c5\u03ba\u03bf\u03bb\u03cd\u03bd\u03c3\u03b5\u03b9\u03c2-\u03c3\u03b5-\u03c6\u03bf\u03b9\u03c4\u03b7\u03c4\u03ad\u03c2-\u03bc\u03b5-\u03b4\u03c5\u03c3\u03bb\u03b5\u03be\u03af\u03b1.pdf\">PDF<\/a>) where it is stated that: \"In accordance with article 17 par. 2 of Presidential Decree 57\/1990, prospective students for universities and technical institutes who suffer from dyslexia, provided they present a special diagnostic report from a medical and educational center or station, from which it emerges that they are physically unable to take part in written exams, are given the opportunity to<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">are examined orally in the general exams\u2026 These students must provide a special diagnostic report showing that they suffer from dyslexia and not from elements of dyslexia.\u201d<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/p><hr \/><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><strong>\u0392.<\/strong> <strong>MINISTRY OF NATIONAL EDUCATION AND RELIGION, LETTER WITH PROTOCOL NUMBER: \u03a6.252\/32605\/ 6 APRIL 2004: EXAMINATION OF PHYSICALLY WEAK CANDIDATES<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/socialsupport.unit.uoi.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/\u03a4\u03a1\u039f\u03a0\u039f\u03a3-\u0395\u039e\u0395\u03a4\u0391\u03a3\u0397\u03a3-\u03a6\u03a5\u03a3\u0399\u039a\u03a9\u03a3-\u0391\u0394\u03a5\u039d\u0391\u03a4\u03a9\u039d-\u03a0\u03a1\u039f\u03a6\u039f\u03a1\u0399\u039a\u0397-\u0395\u039e\u0395\u03a4\u0391\u03a3\u0397.pdf\">PDF<\/a>), which states that:<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">\u201c\u2026only candidates who are unable to undergo written examinations are examined orally, because:\ni) they are blind, according to Law 958\/79 (Government Gazette 191 A), or have a visual disability of at least 80%,\nii) they have a motor disability of at least 67%, either permanent or temporary, affecting the upper limbs,\niii) they suffer from spasticity of the upper limbs,\niv) they suffer from a fracture or other temporary injury of the upper limbs that makes writing impossible,\nv) their performance in subjects cannot be assessed through written examinations due to a specific speech disorder (dyslexia).\u201d<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/p><hr \/><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><strong>C.<\/strong> <strong>MINISTERIAL DECISION NUMBER \u03a5\u03a0\u039f\/\u039f\u0399\u039f\u0399\u039a\/98546 24 OCTOBER 2007<\/strong> (Government Gazette 2065) (<a href=\"https:\/\/socialsupport.unit.uoi.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/\u03a6\u0395\u039a-2007-\u0391\u03bd\u03b1\u03c0\u03b1\u03c1\u03b1\u03b3\u03c9\u03b3\u03ae-\u03ad\u03c1\u03b3\u03bf\u03c5-\u03c0\u03bd\u03b5\u03c5\u03bc\u03b1\u03c4\u03b9\u03ba\u03ae\u03c2-\u03b9\u03b4\u03b9\u03bf\u03ba\u03c4\u03b7\u03c3\u03af\u03b1\u03c2-\u03c0\u03c1\u03bf\u03c2-\u03cc\u03c6\u03b5\u03bb\u03bf\u03c2-\u03c4\u03c9\u03bd-\u0391\u03bc\u03b5\u0391.pdf\">PDF<\/a>),<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">REPRODUCTION OF AN INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY WORK FOR THE BENEFIT OF DISABLED PEOPLE, where in<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">ARTICLE 4: CATEGORIES OF WORKS FOR WHICH THE REPRODUCTION OF ARTICLE 28 A IS PERMITTED<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">it is stated that:<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">\"Any work of speech or science that is not perceptible in the<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">its existing form to the beneficiaries, can be reproduced<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">for their benefit in order to give it the form that will<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">allow them to perceive it. The limitation of this<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">property right does not apply to the source code of<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">computer programs.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">ARTICLE 5 FORMS OF REPRODUCTION OF THE WORK which states that:<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">\"Forms that may be adopted by those works whose reproduction is permitted pursuant to this are Braille, Moon, Daisy, talking books, as well as any other method designed exclusively for use by the beneficiaries and responding to their special needs, to the extent required by the specific disability.\"<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/p><hr \/><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><strong>\u0394.<\/strong> <strong>LAW 3549\/2007 (Government Gazette 69A) (<a href=\"https:\/\/socialsupport.unit.uoi.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Act-3549-2007.pdf\">PDF<\/a>), ARTICLE 12 PARAGRAPH 1: REFORM OF THE INSTITUTIONAL FRAMEWORK FOR THE STRUCTURE AND OPERATION OF HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS<\/strong>, where it is stated that:<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">\u00abIn each Department, the Internal Regulations of the respective Higher Education Institution (HEI) provide for the establishment and operation of a student support service, with the purpose of offering counseling services to students for a smooth transition from secondary to tertiary education, supporting students with disabilities or students facing difficulties, and ensuring the successful completion<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">their studies.\"<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/p><hr \/><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><strong>\u0395.<\/strong> <strong>LAW 4009\/2011 (Government Gazette 195) (<a href=\"https:\/\/socialsupport.unit.uoi.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/FEK-195-2011.pdf\">PDF<\/a>): STRUCTURE, OPERATION, QUALITY ASSURANCE OF STUDIES AND INTERNATIONALIZATION OF HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS<\/strong>, which states that: Article 9, Section 10: \"The Dean's Office has the following responsibilities and any others provided for by the provisions of this law, the Organization and the Internal Regulations: Paragraph p): Ensuring equal access and participation in the study programs of all students, without discrimination and regardless of gender, disability or other characteristics.\".<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Article 33: Paragraph 8:\nExaminations are conducted exclusively after the end of the winter and spring semesters for the courses taught during those respective semesters. The student is entitled to be examined in the courses of both semesters before the start of the winter semester. Special provision is made for the oral examination of students with proven dyslexia, diagnosed prior to their admission to the institution, in accordance with procedures defined in the institution\u2019s Internal Regulations.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Article 36: Paragraph 1b:\n\"Students carry out practical training in the public or private sector, either in Greece or abroad, provided that it is included in the relevant study program. The terms and conditions of the practical training are regulated by the institution\u2019s Charter, including special provisions to facilitate students with disabilities so that they may undertake their practical training on an equal basis with all other students.\"<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Article 52: Other Support Services\nParagraph 1:\n\"The Charter of each institution provides for the establishment and operation of a centralized or independent student support service within each school, with the aim of offering counseling services to facilitate students\u2019 smooth integration into higher education, to inform them about the overall operation of the institution, and to support students with disabilities or those facing difficulties in successfully completing their studies. This service may operate throughout the year to provide information to prospective students.
