The General Secretariat of Communication-General Secretariat of Information, in cooperation with the UNESCO headquarters of the University of Macedonia, proceeded to the publication of short guides containing rules of conduct for daily communication with people with disabilities. AMELIB<\/a><\/span><\/h1>\n

The development of AMELib (Accessible Multi-modal Electronic Library) in the framework of action 9.7 of SEAB, aims to strengthen the effort of removing barriers for disabled users of Greek academic libraries. The goal is to offer accessible content through an equally accessible web application, which relies on the application of copyright exemption provisions for print-disabled people as provided in copyright law.<\/span><\/p>\n

ERASMUS+\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/h1>\n

Within the context\u00a0.<\/strong>EU has adopted a policy that aims to broaden the Project to Students with Disabilities in a variety of activities alongside education\u00a0.<\/a>\u00a0Understanding the dificulties that Students with Disabilities face when travelling abroad, this project aims to assist that and provide the means to make it successful\u00a0.<\/strong>Thus, they can apply for extra funding\u00a0(application)\u00a0<\/a>in the relevant website of IKY, where they can also find the entire process so as to accomplish that\u00a0(website).<\/a>\u00a0People interested in appling can contact in this email:\u00a0erasmus@uoi.gr<\/a>.(More info can be found here<\/a>). <\/span>Finally, if all academic and general requirments are met extra credits can be added.<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

National Confederation of Blind<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The National Federation of Blind (EOT) was founded in 2005 aiming to organize the trade union integration of the blind and ensuring its internal unity. That is in order to inform the Greek Society about the real problems faced by the blind and the visually impaired in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lighthouse for the Blind of Greece<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Since 1946, the Lighthouse for the Blind in Greece has been a great embrace for all adults with vision problems. Faros is an association specifically recognized as a Charity, non-profit, supervised by the Ministry of Labor and funded by the State. All the social activities of the Lighthouse are offered free of charge (social service, PC lessons, ceramics lessons, Italian lessons, talking book library, braille library, Braille lessons for the blind, gym, etc.), while there are many leisure and socialization (knitted, macrame, theatrical group, etc.) activities<\/span><\/p>\n

National Sports Federation for People with Disabilities<\/strong><\/span><\/a>
The National Sports Federation of Persons with Disabilities was founded in 2002 and operates in accordance with the Sports Law like the other Sports Federations in Greece. Represents all categories of athletes with mobility disabilities (amputation, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, etc.), mental disability and visual impairments. It is legally recognized and a member of all International Sports Federations and Organizations by disability category and by sport who are members of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). In Greece, the Hellenic Paralympic Committee is a member of the IPC.<\/span><\/p>\n
